Product Information Students drop eggs the scientific way and rebound with a wealth of knowledge and understanding with this eggsciting eggsventure in thinking and designing. Students make use of realistic design processes to successfully protect an egg from a reasonable height drop. They must decide what material to use to suspend their egg inside a container and can input the properties into the computer to simulate what happens when the egg is dropped. Interactive test labs allow them to calculate perfect elastic and perfect inelastic collisions, test the elasticity and damping of various types of bungee cords, and determine the failure strength of cord attachments. Finally they can plug their data into the Egg Drop Lab simulator and see the results. Includes printable lab, activity and teacher’s notes in .pdf, .edoc and Clarisworks formats. Grades 5-12.
