This interactive kit is an entry-level fingerprint training component for teachers who seek forensic science related lesson material for their students. The activities in this kit focus on two of the most important identification qualities of a fingerprint: permanence and uniqueness. These concepts are at the foundation of fingerprint science. This kit was developed by a real forensic expert.
Using the fact-based fictional story "The Mystery of the Lost Fingerprint Magnifier", your students become fingerprint inspectors. Either the teacher or a student have one of their fingers "inked" using the included ink pad. They then press their inked finger onto one of the included white balloons. The balloon is blown up providing a dramatic enlargement that students can easily examine. This kit has been designed so that it can be used as either a single demonstration or presented in a sequential training session where the information is presented in individual training modules.
Kit includes "Mystery" booklet, reproducibles, 1 fingerprint ink pad and 100 white ballons in a plastic storage snapcase, instructions.
