Standing Wave Demonstrator (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)
|
Product Information
When you blow over the mouth of a bottle, or pluck the string of a guitar, you create a standing wave. Visually demonstrate this phenomenon with this tool designed by physics teacher, Dwight Myers. Simply attach the device to any power drill, anchor the end of the string to a stationary object and turn the drill on. By adjusting the tension on the demonstrator you can produce successive harmonics and nodes. Change the tension, the speed, and the distance, and have your students predict the results. Grades 11–12. Size: 4m L.
