Light Waves uses superior graphics, sound, video and virtual experiments to explain the concept of the wave theory of light using Young’s experiments on interference and diffraction.Computer simulations help students bridge the gap between abstract theory and direct observations by allowing them to visualize the actual light patterns typically represented by mathematical equations. Experimental results are displayed in two forms: light intensity patterns as seen in the actual lab setup and graphs of the interference effect, diffraction effect and a composite plot of both. This program will help students understand how the wavelength of light is determined, predict the effects of manipulating one of more variables, evaluate hypotheses based on experimental results and more.
