Product Information
How does an element’s atomic number relate to the number of electrons in the atom and how the s, p, d and f sublevels are filled?
With this kit, your students can build models of simple and complex atoms and discover electron configurations. Chemistry teachers Alicia Silva and Frances Sprabary developed this teaching aid to help students learn about concepts such as electron gain and loss.
In addition, your students (working in groups of five) can make models of ions and then use their knowledge about ionic bonds to write formulas for various compounds. Grades 10-11.
Includes: disks, pegs (three colors), colored pencils, bags, marker, magnetic tape, and complete
instructions, including two lab activities and a quiz.
