Model Hot Air Balloons Kit (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)
|
Product Information
How does a hot air balloon stay afloat? Let your students find out for themselves as they create their own hot air balloon model using simple, everyday items. This fun and educational lab is the brainchild of California teacher Art Morrill. Once students complete the balloons, which are made with panels of tissue paper, they can use a stove pipe and burner to provide the heat necessary to make the balloon rise. Have contests to see whose balloon stays afloat the longest! Relevant skills include measuring ambient (exterior) and interior air temperature, determining mass and calculation of lift. Grades 7-12. This kit comes with enough materials for 30 students, including colored tissue paper, white glue, construction paper, stove pipe, and detailed instructions.
