With this piece of equipment you can run up to four separate horizontal gels at once in a chamber no larger than a standard single-gel model.
The transparent acrylic tank is one piece to prevent leaks, and its hinged lid must be closed before the equipment will run--a great safety feature. There’s even a leveling bubble and adjustable tank feet to keep the unit level. Height-adjustable and replaceable platinum electrode cassettes ensure that the exact amount of buffer is added, depending on the number of gels.
There are large casting trays that allow you to separate any size DNA, and their foam-padded end dams snap on to form a leakproof seal. Dual-sided combs (four each of 18/8 wells and 12/1 wells) slide into grooves on the tray to run gels of variable lengths. Multiple runs can also be made on one tray.
Included in this Deluxe System are a deluxe power supply, introductory agarose gel electrophoresis kit with enough prepared agarose to pour 12 gels, running buffer, electrophoretic dyes, and instruction manual. Micropipets are required but not included. Casting tray size: 12 cm x 9 cm; chamber size: 30 cm x 14 cm x 12 cm.
