Chemetrics Sulfide

Product Information
Sulfides are naturally present in ground waters as a result of leaching from sulfur-containing mineral deposits. Hydrogen sulfide, the most common form of sulfide, has industrial applications. It is highly corrosive and toxic. Using the colorimetric method, this test kit determines total acid soluble sulfides using a blue dye. An ampoule is immersed in the sample and the tip is snapped off. The correct volume of sample is drawn in and a small inert gas bubble forms. Sample and reagent are mixed by tilting the ampoule so the bubble travels from end to end. In two minutes or less, the resulting color is compared to the appropriate color standards (comparators or color chart) to quantify the result. The intensity of the blue color is directly proportional to the sulfide concentration in the sample. Approx. analysis time six minutes. Range 0–50 and 50–500 ppm.
