Product Information

The Fire Piston demonstrates that temperature increases as gases are compressed.
A heavy walled glass tube fits inside a clear acrylic cylinder having a rubber base. A piston with a large molded handle is used to compress the gas in the glass tube, causing sufficient heat to ignite a small piece of cotton in the tube. A resilient plastic cap eliminates the danger of breakage.
