Product Information

In December 1999 media around the world announced the first world to be directly sighted beyond our solar system had been discovered. Located 55 lightyears from Earth this new world, called the "Millennium Planet", is a Jupiter-like gas giant near the binary star system tau Bootis. This new planet is twice the diameter and eight times the mass of Jupiter and is estimated to be 1,000 times more massive than the Earth. Since then a number of other extrasolar planets have been discovered using the same methods that found the "Millennium Planet". This poster, by artist David Hardy, postulates a near-by moon.
