Product Information In this study biomaterials with different physical properties are sythesized by mixing Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with amino acids. The amino acids network or crosslink the linear PVA through hydrogen bonding. The result of crosslinking a linear polymer is usually an increase in viscosity or precipitation. The concentration of the amino acid as well as the choice of amino acid results in biomaterials with different physical properties. Students study the materials' physical properties by observation and determine the possible uses for each biomaterial. Tell a Friend about this item
