Your Immune System gives students a basic understanding of the organs, cells, and processes that constitute the human immune system.
The Your Immune System video begins by introducing students to the various types of microorganisms that cause disease. It then presents the major organs and components of the human immune system. Specific and non-specific immune responses are compared with the organs, processes, and white cells associated with each detailed. Students learn what happens to people whose immune systems are not working properly such as indivduals with allergies, autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiency diseases. Also explores the uses of immunization and antibotics as ways to help the immune system fight off infections.
