Product Information
Appropriate for Grades 9-College An Interactive Lab on ImmunologyInfectious mononucleosis, also known as the kissing disease, is a condition common among students in high school and college. It earns its name from the causative agent, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which can be transmitted through saliva during kissing. With this experiment students will search for the presence of EBV using the ELISA reaction to detect specific viral proteins. This interesting study of a pervasive virus is safe to conduct in the lab, as this experiment does not contain EBV virus or its components and none of the experiment components have been prepared from human or viral sources.
