Flexibility and fun are only two aspects of this unique product. The state-of-the-art robotic arm teaches basic robotic sensing and locomotion principles, and its transparent design lets students see the dynamics of the gear mechanism. A five-switch controller lets kids maneuver the arm into grabbing, releasing, raising and lowering, pivoting and more. The robotic arm reaches up to 510 mm, out to 360 mm, and can lift up to 130 g. Assembly is required; four D batteries are requiresd, but not included. Available separately is software containing OWI Robotic Arm Trainer activities and the General Robotic Theory Manual, both in .pdf format. Comes with a folder and reproducible student activity worksheets. Requires four N batteries, available separately.
