Product Information

Help students learn about fault lines, sea floor spreading and polarity reversal in the ocean floor.
The two blocks let you illustrate the structure of an underwater fault line; by pulling on the paper strips, you can show students how magma flows outward from these faults. Students will also use compasses to see the changing magnetic alignment of the magma, and learn how scientists study changes in Earth's polarity. This kit was designed by earth science teacher Ron Robinson. Grades 9-12.

Includes: boxes, paper strips with magnets, compasses and a teacher's guide with background information and instructions.
