The well filtered and regulated outputs of this power supply make it an extremely good value. It has been designed specifically for use in the physics lab where output requirements can vary considerably.
The Universal Power Supply (PSSC) contains four separate power supplies; a precision 0-5Vdc, 3A adjustable regulated supply with low ripple, complete short circuit and overload protection, an unregulated 6Vac, 2A output which is useful for supplying vacuum tube filaments or various 6V lamps, and a pair of +8Vdc and -8Vdc voltage regulated supplies with a common ground to supply operational amplifiers or other electronics circuits requiring balanced regulated power supplies.
The three DC outputs are individually with less than 0.5% variation, and fully protected against overload by current limiters. The AC filament output is a separate circuit with floating ground. Each DC output includes its own circuit ground. The entire unit is protected by a fuse, a chassis ground, and a three-wire AC power cord. For operation on 120V, AC, 60 Hz.
