Product Information
Darwin said “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one that is most adaptable to change”.
The term taxis refers to the process in which an organism reacts to different environmental stimuli. In this lab students investigate the reflexive responses of two types of microrganisms, Paramecia and Euglena, to external stimuli.
They alter light (phototaxis), pH (chemotaxis), electrical current (galvanotaxis), and gravity (geotaxis), then observe the resulting behavior patterns displayed by the organisms. For live materials - see below.
Includes teacher’s guide, student study and analysis copymasters, microscope slides, and a coupon for live materials.
The Live Items includes paramecia and euglena cultures. As these are perishable materials you must specify a ship date.
