An intriguing mechanism
High mechanical advantage is achieved using bicycle chain and a stepped sprocket to give ten ratios.
An intriguing mechanism, the differential hoist takes chain in and pays chain out no matter which way it is running. This must be taken into account in order to determine the Ideal Mechanical Advantage after counting teeth on the sprocket.
The apparatus can be used with or without the built-in ratchet.
Comes with instructions. Requires a stand, mounting rod, spring balance and sample loads.
