Product Information Covers the history and evolution of the scientific method This award-winning video traces the evolution of the scientific method, a three-part process of observing, hypothesizing, and experimentation which is the basis of experimental science today. Following its initial implementation in the 19th century, students will see how the method has developed, allowing scientists to work with provisional theories so long as specific tests did not discredit them. The scientific method is a reflection of the psychology of science, and an understanding of this system will allow students to get a feel for scientific thought processes. Students will watch as the scientific method is put to use in a variety of settings, from the classroom to professional research and development. Grades 9-12. 23 minutes.
