Product Information
Address concerns of industrial pollution and toxic waste, while learning about metal reactivity with this creative experiment. Students attempt to reclaim copper from a liquid waste material, using three different metal replacements and noting the effectiveness of each. Realizing that valuable substances can sometimes be reclaimed and then recycled or safely disposed of, students then determine which metal used in the replacement reaction would be the safest, most economical choice to remove the waste on a larger scale. Includes materials for six student groups and teacher’s guide with student worksheets.
