Hare's Apparatus

Mounted on a wooden stand with a scale, the apparatus is comprised of a three-limbed glass tube with rubber tubing on the center.

For comparing the densities of liquids by measuring the height of two columns of liquid produced by applying suction to the short center limb. The three-limbed glass tube, with 250mm of rubber tubing on the center limb, mounted on a stand with a scale 61cm long with the zero at the bottom. The column height readings are facilitated by means of two sliding distance rods which may be adjusted so that their lower ends just touch the free surfaces of the liquids. Overall dimensions 68 x 30 x 15 cm.
