Ethidium Bromide

Research-Grade DNA Stain

Visualizes even the smallest bands of DNA. Stain gels in a staining tray for ten minutes with a 1X working solution of ethidium bromide, then decant the ethidium bromide into its original container for reuse (can be reused 7–10 times without substantive loss of staining intensity). Rinse off your gels in a designated sink area, then destain them in water for 10–20 minutes and view gels on a UV transilluminator. The 500 μL at 10mg/mL stock concentrate makes 5 L of 1X working solution. Store indefinitely at room temperature.

Caution: Ethidium bromide is a mutagen. Wear protective gloves and eyewear when handling. Sold only to colleges, universities, and accredited laboratories. Check your local regulations for disposal.
