No longer in frequent use, the steam engine was one of the first inventions which sparked an industrial revolution. This all metallic model enables you to show how this once revolutionary engine works well still today. The metal cylinder is section cut and covered with a glass plate for easy viewing within. Working parts include a piston and slide valve, so link motion and reversing method can be observed. The movement of the wheel can even be demonstrated by blowing on it.
