Explore Direct Current Circuits

Examine the effects varying voltage has on common components in simple, DC circuits. See how a standard 6 V light bulb varies in brightness, temperature, and color at different voltages, and the changes in intensity and blinking rate in a 2.5 V “blinky” bulb. You can also see how voltage and circuit polarity effect the operation and intensity of an LED. An optional investigation introduces circuit diagrams and the relationship between current and voltage. It includes enough bulbs, connectors, LEDs, and more for five setups, as well as a teacher’s guide and student instructions. Four AA batteries per setup, required, are available separately.
