Arco® Radiation Absorption Discs

Set of discs to study radiant heat absorption based on surface properties.

• Four anodized aluminum discs: mirror silver, mirror black, matt silver, matt black

  Each disc has a 30 to 60 °C liquid crystal thermometer

Vividly demonstrate how surface color and texture affect the absorption and reflection of radiant heat. These unique disks each have a tough, durable coating that affects the rate at which they absorb heat from a source, such as a heat lamp. The liquid crystal thermometer embeded on each disk shows the temperature change without having to stop or manipulate the experiment.
