Explore how the different surfaces affect the frictional force on a moving object. This 2" square wooden cube has four different faces: bare wood, paper, vinyl and sandpaper. You can explore the value for static and kinetic friction by either pulling on the block or allowing it to slide slowly down an incline plane. Required but not included are masses, incline plane and a spring scale.
