Excellent Example of How Microbiology Relates to Physiology

Students will perform a bacterial flora count on their own saliva in this activity designed by faculty from Temple University’s School of Dentistry. They will then perform a test that gives the oral glucose clearance time. After they have completed the activities, students will be able to see what factors play a major role in the formation of cavities. The kit includes enough materials for 24 students, an activity booklet, and student data sheet.
