Students perform two sets of experiments focusing on the alkaline earth metals and the halogens groups. In the first set of experiments, students search for patterns as they look at the reactivity of the alkaline earth metals.
The second set of experiments form small amounts of solubilized halogen gasses as a colorful way of measuring reactivity within the halogen group.
Ordering information: This kit includes ammonium oxalate, barium nitrate, calcium nitrate, chlorine water, iodine water, magnesium nitrate, mineral oil, potassium bromate, potassium bromide, potassium bromide, potassium iodate, sodium carbonate, potassium chloride, potassium iodide, strontium nitrate, sulfuric acid, sulfuric acid, graduated plastic pipette, and vials and labels for bromine water.
