The Microstirrer takes the place of the stirring bar that is typically used with a laboratory magnetic stirrer. The new Vernier Microstirrer easily attaches to the end of a pH Sensor, Conductivity Probe, Dissolved Oxygen Probe, or Ion-Selective Electrode. When the magnetic stirrer plate (required, but not included) is turned on, its magnetic field turns the paddle wheel of the Microstirrer, resulting in enhanced stirring near the electrode tip. The Microstirrer works with any magnetic stirrer.

The hub will press fit onto the shaft of many small DC generators; just attach your own blades and begin experimenting with wind power! The hub is designed to allow you to change blade angles and/or interchange blade sets quickly and easily. The simpleGEN is an easy-to-build AC generator that allows students to explore the basics of electrical generator design. With the simpleGEN, you can demonstrate Faraday’s law, light LEDs, and perform experiments that explore how coils, magnets, and rotation affect electrical generation. With some quick modifications, you will be able to convert your generator to a simple motor and explore additional variables. You can also take your experiments to the next level by converting your simpleGEN into a wind turbine nacelle.
