Members of the Pelomyxa genus look very much like Amoeba. Pelomyxa, however, have many nuclei, whereas Amoeba have only one.

Planaria are a flatworm commonly used in science fair projects. They do not bite and move very slowly, making them easy for young students to observe.

No Lancefield group shown, alpha hemolysis. Bile solubility test positive, optochin sensitive. Causes pneumonia. 

Angiosperm Reproduction

Volvox aureus is a species of colonial green algae that forms spherical colonies of cells.

Paramecium multimicronucleatumis one of the largest species of Paramecium. This ciliate contains a single macronucleus and four or more micronuclei. Grows in Dilute Alfalfa medium (Hay Medium).

Isolated from human nasopharynx. Presumably not related to N. sicca; some relation to N. gonorrhoeae. Often agglutinates in saline. 

Grows on dead tissues. Novobiocin resistant (S. epidermidis and S. aureus novobiocin sensitive). 

Useful for demonstrating the morphological distinctions between male (not included) and female pelvic structures.
