With a simple experiment, students investigate how gene expression can be controlled by regulatory enzymes and environmental factors. When the bacterial gene is expressed and an enzyme is produced, the samples turn a brilliant shade of red. The kit comes with enough materials for six setups, a teacher’s guide, and student copymaster.
