Bring a molecular rainbow to your classroom! This lab offers students an engaging introduction to the theory and practice of a fundamental biotechnology technique: gel electrophoresis. Students will run dye samples to demonstrate how gel electrophoresis can separate molecular mixtures.

- Distilled or deionized H₂O (to dilute buffer concentrate)
- Gel electrophoresis system (lab is compatible with Bandit™, blueGel™, or other gel electrophoresis systems)
- Variable volume micropipettes, or fixed-volume minipettes, and tips
Accessories information: The learning lab companion kit (catalog no. 470352-026) contains all the consumables (except water) needed for a class of 32 students. These reagents and consumables can also be sourced independently.
Delivery information: This lab kit provides enough reagents for eight lab groups: Rainbow dye samples (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple); 10 agarose tabs TBE electrophoresis buffer; 50 plastic tubes (1.7 ml microtubes).
