This apparatus allows observation of different thermal expansions in liquids, with a back panel enhancing visibility and ease of use. Fill the glass tubes with the liquids you wish to study, and use the trough as a water bath to control the temperature. As the temperature of the liquids changes, their volumes expand at different rates, which is easy to observe against the backdrop.
