Help students clearly visualize the steps of protein synthesis and save time creating lesson demonstrations. First, draw a picture of a cell on the board, complete with nucleus, ribosomes, ribosomal subunits and a membrane. Then, using the magnetic pieces and Velcro® in this kit, you can manipulate these large magnetized models in and around your drawing to clearly illustrate the different phases of the synthesis process. The models include a DNA double helix that separates, a complementary strand of mRNA, and four tRNA models, all of which fit together like a puzzle. Four amino acid models and three peptide bonds are also included. Teacher developed, these large magnetized models for easy viewing from all areas of the classroom. Partial assembly required. Includes a teacher’s guide with instructions. Grades 9–12.

Yes, I recommend
Fantastic product - My students always tell me that this really helps them visualize and reinforces the processes of transcription and translation. it's reusable year after year and well worth the money if you don't have the time/resources to make one yourself. My only complaint is that the white doesn't show up great against the whiteboard. Would be better if it was a different color.

No, I didn't recommend
Protein Synthesis model doesn't stick - This model is great to have students visualize and describe the stages of Protein Synthesis however the ability to use it effectively is compromised by the fact that the magnets are not strong enough to support their own weight and that of the model.
In addition, the adhesive on the magnets does not stick to the model very well. If the magnet issue was remedied I would have no problem recommendin
