The large Perca flavescens specimen, which can be used in conjunction with diagrams in biology textbooks, displays typical fish skeletal anatomy in detail. The bony fish can be compared with cartilaginous fish, or with other vertebrate classes, for a variety of lessons. The pharyngeal bones are removed and mounted separately for closer examination.
