Natural bone. It’s easier for students to understand the various elements of fish skeletal anatomy when they refer to an actual skeleton. The large Perca flavescens specimen, which can be used in conjunction with diagrams in biology textbooks, displays typical fish skeletal anatomy in detail. The bony fish can be compared with cartilaginous fish, or with other vertebrate classes, for a variety of lessons. The pharyngeal bones are removed and mounted separately for closer examination. Mounted in a clear acrylic case, it comes with a key identifying 38 structures. Case size: 12"L x 2"W x 6 1/2"H. Skeleton size: approximately 7"L.
