  • Made with high-quality materials built to withstand repeated use
  • Perfect for classroom demonstrations
  • Small and lightweight device is easy to store and transport for use in classrooms, science fairs and other events
This Gaussian demonstration apparatus also known as a linear magnetic accelerator, is a device that uses a series of magnetically interacting balls to demonstrate the principles of magnetism and kinetic energy. When a ball bearing is dropped onto one end of the device, it is attracted to the magnet at that end and begins to move towards it. As it approaches the magnet, it is attracted to the next magnet in the series and begins to accelerate. This process continues until the ball bearing reaches the other end of the device, where it is launched out with a high velocity. The device can be used to teach magnetism, motion, Newton's Laws and can be used as a fun ball launcher for other experiments and demonstrations.

Kit includes: (4) neodymium magnets, (4) magnet holders which allow the user to move the magnets and reverse their polarity towards one another, (10) ³/₄" steel balls, and a low friction track with an open end for launching the balls. Includes instructions. Size of track: 27³/₄×1³/₄×1³/₄" (L×W×H).
