The Climate action kit, powered by micro:bit, reshapes K-12 coding and robotics education providing an engaging platform for students to explore computer science while addressing climate change challenges. Consisting of hardware, software and a meticulously designed curriculum, the kit aims to foster STEM education under the guidance of educators. Microsoft’s makecode serves as the software backbone, offering a web-based interface for coding with blocks or text in Python or JavaScript. The curriculum, aligned with educational standards such as NGSS, common core, and CSTA, introduces climate change issues and their technological solutions, guiding students through the process of coding and building their own prototypes. The micro:bit serves as the powerhouse behind this educational initiative, facilitating hands-on learning experiences.

The Smart farming kit is a part of the Climate action kit ecosystem of products. It is an all-in-one STEM education solution that makes teaching and learning about coding and robotics easy and purposeful. Students will love learning about the use of technology in agriculture and how advancements in modern farming are supporting climate action. Students will then build their own hydroponics system.

The Climate action kits are designed to be beginner-friendly, engaging, and purposeful for students and teachers alike. It supports a continuum of learning across multiple subjects and grade levels, from primary to high school. It also connects to real United Nations’ sustainable development goals, inspiring students to be tomorrow’s changemakers.
