What Is Making the Block Stop Moving?

  • Aligned to NGSS standards (MS/HS: PS2)
In this set of activities, students will be observing and exploring various kinds of forces at 7 different lab stations. As students reach each station, they will be asked to perform certain tasks and to indentify the agent, "receiver", and types of forces present, and to describe the effect of each force. The students' understanding of these activities will allow them to have a more in depth understanding of the various types of forces, how they act on different objects, and the effects that they can have. Students utilize the framework principle of Motion and Stability: Forces and Interactions (PS2) in order to complete this activity.
