I have been looking for one of these ever since I got to hold one at our Sacramento Science Conference. I am so happy I ordered her and added her to our classroom pet collection. My students love watching her and love to see when she is all stretched out to her full length. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a truly unique critter!

I love our classroom's Millipede and all of the students at my school (k-5th) adore Nayru. The kids love when we can take her out of her habitat and they get to see if she has grown any longer or just observe her habits and behavior. Getting Nayru for our STREAM room was the best decision and I loved how prompt and professional Ward's Science was with thier shipping, the pricing and for also have a few add-on activities for the students.

Ward's® Giant African Millipede (A. gigas)
Giant African Millipede (Archispirostreptus gigas) makes a great classroom pet.

  • Available with or without a habitat

  • Average length: 6 - 8"
  • Imported from abundant wild populations
Millipedes will eat washed, organic vegetables such as cucumbers and spinach.

Ward's holds valid USDA permits allowing us to ship to most Continental US States.

Ordering information: Habitat comes with a plastic terrarium, substrate, setup instructions, a tree branch, and a coupon redeemable for one giant millipede.

Delivery information: Millipede Habitat will ship upon receipt of your order, via ground as it contains a coupon for a living specimen. You can redeem the coupon for a live specimen when you're ready.

If ordered alone, the millipede will ship via overnight or 2-day air. Please specify a delivery date upon checkout.
