This is, indeed, an introductory kit, but it is a VERY expensive introduction to hovercraft. Do some basic research, get some foam board and surplus computer fans, and you'll learn way more than what this kit can show for a quarter of the cost.

My science olympiad students said they felt this kit was way too basic. We are going to a hobby shop to get new supplies.
