The Mitochondrion Model helped the Biology students at Bakersfield College Delano Campus to understand the function of the mitochondria as the so-called "powerhouse of cells." It also helped the students to understand the Krebs Cycle.

Includes A Diagram Of The Krebs Cycle

The mitochondrion, the so-called “powerhouse” of cells, is re-created in a superb, highly detailed model showing the double-wall membrane, cristae, subunits, granules localized on the inner wall, and the matrix material filling the body. The structure is shown in a longitudinal section enlarged 190,000X and in cross section enlarged 1,000,000X. The one-piece model is mounted on a base featuring a diagram of the Krebs cycle.
