New and improved balloon design and activities!

Trying to visualize the size of a mole is difficult, especially 22.4 L of gas. The Mole BalloonTM Activity Fun Kit changes all that! By using a specially designed latex Mole BalloonTM, your students will physically experience the volume of 1 mole of gas because they can hold it in their hands!

This new kit contains an improved balloon design, four original activities with many upgrades, and two additional activities that create an even better learning experience! These activities will help your students understand that 1 mole of any gas at STP has 6.02×1023 molecules with a mass in grams that is equal to its atomic mass or molar mass. The balloons are color-coded with an array of six different eye-catching colors, allowing the teacher to assign different gas formulas to them.

The online activity guide has instructions for correctly inflating the balloon, defining the mole three different ways, chemical reaction and/or mole conversion activities, and a mole comparison demonstration.  Within these activities you will find detailed procedures, teacher preparation information, discussion suggestions, notes, questions, answers, and original Professor MoleTM art.

These colorful balloons will make learning fun, engage your students, and they will be saying, 'I Know the Mole!' The kit includes materials for 30 groups (with up to four students) and a teacher’s instruction sheet that contains protocol for a safe lab experience and how to download the teacher or student activity guides. Make Mole BalloonTM a part of your Mole Day celebration! Grades 10 to 12.
