Operation involves a coil of wire, a magnet, and a battery. The motor works because electricity runs through the coil and a magnetic field is formed. The coil pushes away from the magnet with enough force to turn it around. As the coil turns, it becomes charged and spins.

Ordering information: This kit includes assembly instructions and suggested experiments. A D cell battery is required but not included.
