Vertical Force Board

Easy to view force board designed for demonstrations.

This demonstration is a useful aid in teaching about concurrent forces, resultants and equilibrium. When you hang weights from the strings, you can draw free-body diagrams on a piece of paper taped to the board, then use the parallelogram method to solve the resultants of various masses.

Developed by physics teacher Carl Albert, this device offers an intuitive look at the result of multiple forces.
