No, I didn't recommend
The "kit" only includes the plastic jug with a hole in the side. The description says the kit requires a laser but I assumed a "kit" would also include the other items displayed in the picture.

We are sorry that the optics kit did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we tried to make it clear on the website that the laser was not included. Due to stricter regulations on the use of lasers, we had to make them an accessory to many of our kits. Thank you for the feedback.

Water Optics Kit
Looking for a simple yet dramatic way to demonstrate principles of fiber optics and the bending of light?

  • Teacher Developed!
  • Includes: instructions and follow-up activities
  • Note: This kit requires a laser. We recommend our 0.8 mW unmodulated laser
In this demonstration, a laser beam is passed through a glass plate mounted on one side of the jug. The beam is lined up with a hole on the opposite side of the jug. As the water spurts out from the hole, the beam can be seen traveling along the length of the water’s curve, bouncing from side to side within the stream. The 64 oz. plastic jug has a handle and cap and is pre-drilled with two lined-up holes. The glass plate is securely mounted on the side. Developed by Bruce Yeany. Grades 7-12.
