I have two of these, and the markings would have completely delaminated and fallen off except for the tape holding it in place. I'm searching online where I can replace them with an honest 2 meter stick that has markings directly on the wood (like any cheap 1 meter stick), but no one seems to do it...

Sadly, this is the only 2 meter stick that seems to be available these days. Unfortunately, this is not worth buying. As all the other reviews note, there is a thin metallic strip attached to a piece of wood. It does not hold up to classroom use. The markings are difficult for many students to read.

These are so hard to use! It is not a 2-meter stick, it's a 2000-mm stick! And the individual markings are confusing for students. Also, the white label of measurements is a sticker which peels off easily. These are the worst. Don't buy them.

Metal "ruler" comes off - These two-meter sticks are standard for beach profiling, a common activity for oceanography, geology, and earth science labs. In the olden days, the ruler was printed onto the wooden stick. I wish that was still the case. The metal ruler strip that is glued to the wooden stick separates at the ends of the stick. they're not completely unusable, as long as you don't need to read the ends of the sti

Delaminates easily with outdoor use - These would probably work OK in a classroom, but ours did not hold up when used outdoors. The gradations are enameled on metal strips which are glued to the wooden stick and they easily delaminate. Bear in mind that we used them as stadia rods for beach profiling.
