Important Food for Thought
This unique kit was specially designed to commemorate World Food Day, an event established by the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to help alleviate hunger and promote food security worldwide. It allows students to perform an authentic experiment and grow a crop of Romaine lettuce, plus learn about the importance of eating healthy food while advancing local and global food security. The more classrooms – or individual students – that actively participate in World Food Day, the greater the impact on promoting the event's goals. Includes: Jiffy Seed Starter Greenhouse, packet of 100 organic Romaine “Valmaine” lettuce seeds, seed planting tool, 800 mL beaker, EarthBox for World Food Day sticker, wooden plant label, weatherproof biodegradable marker, platform scale, EarthBox black-and-white reversible mulch cover, and CD with Instructional Guide plus ten student activities. Requires: EarthBox Ready-to-Grow Kit, not included.
