Isolated from milk and cheese products. Can be used to ferment milk. 

Isolated from human nasopharynx, saliva, and sputum. Spontaneously agglutinates in saline.

Found on dental plaque, implicated in cavities. No Lancefield group shown, gamma hemolysis. 

Ascomycete. Baker’s yeast. Reproduction by budding. Incubation temperature 30°C. YM agar growth medium.
