Shipping Terms

All orders will incur shipping and handling fees added to the total order value. Shipping charges may vary based on the nature of the product, total weight, destination, delivery date, and delivery method. Orders will ship via UPS carrier at current published rates. Shipping costs are estimated at the time of online order. Orders required to ship by motor freight may incur an additional shipping charge. Our shipping terms are FOB shipping point unless otherwise specified. For more information regarding specific shipping terms for your account, contact your Boreal Science Account Manager. Chemical & Hazardous Shipping Fee

Materials classified as hazardous may include, but are not limited to, chemicals, microbiological specimens, or activity kits containing these materials. If your order contains an item classified as hazardous, a minimum $17.50 fee will be charged for each order. Orders for chemicals and hazardous materials will only be accepted from educational and research institutions; we will not ship chemicals to individuals. Hazardous chemicals that require additional shipping fees are designated within this catalog and on boreal.com product listings. Live Materials Delivery & Guarantee

All micro life cultures will be delivered to you within two business days when order is placed before 11:00 pm EST. (demonstration plates, micro-algae, Nostoc excluded). Your specimens or cultures will arrive in good condition or we will send a free replacement as soon as the next day. Requesting a delivery date of Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday ensures healthy delivery of your live specimens.

Bacteria and Pathogens

Receiving certain bacteria and pathogens requires a level 2 containment permit from the Public Health Agency of Canada. If your facility does not have a level 2 containment permit we will be unable to ship bacteria or pathogens to your facility.

Product Representation

Every effort is made to ensure accuracy in our product images, descriptions, and pricing prior to publication. However, due to occasional changes made by vendors after date of publication, the physical appearance of items may change or vary in color from what is shown in the catalog. We assure the items you receive will satisfy all product specifications and requirements. Catalog pricing and product availability is subject to change. If a typographical error in pricing should occur, we are not obligated to honor the misprinted price. Unless otherwise specified, any item with a price ending in ‘9’ (i.e. $5.09, $14.99, $100.89) is excluded from special offers, discounts, and promotions. Promotional discounts may not be combined with any other offers, discounts or promotions. Offers for free shipping include standard ground shipping only.

Items that are in stock typically ship within 48 hours of receiving your order. Current availability for all products is online on every product page. Certain products, such as live materials, are shipped in a manner to ensure safe delivery at the time that you need them. Special delivery requirements can be specified with your order.

Credit & Invoicing

Credit is extended to all educational institutions. Terms are net 30 days from the date of invoice. Teacher’s personal orders are always welcome. For more information email [email protected].

Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax for the province where your order is shipped will be included on your invoice. If you are exempt from sales tax, please provide the proper exemption documentation when placing your order. Visit us online to download a tax exemption form at boreal.com.

We accept product returns for any reason within 30 days of purchase. Items returned must be unused and in original packaging, and not damaged, written on, or defaced in any way. To return an item for refund, replacement, or credit, please email [email protected] or call 800-387-9393 for a return authorization number and further instructions for return. Please have your order number readily available so that we can better assist you. In some cases, a restocking fee may apply. Items returned without prior authorization may not be accepted or credited. Items under warranty will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. To ensure the quickest return or replacements, we recommend you inspect all packages immediately upon arrival to ensure your satisfaction. A carrier inspection may be required.

Product Not Authorized for Return

Products that have been provided under terms indicating that they are non-returnable;

• Products not in completely resalable condition (including open Products, sampled Products, or Products with damaged, missing, or defaced labeling or packaging);
• Products in less than full-case quantities that were sold in full-case quantities;
• Chemicals, reagents, diagnostics, cultivation media, flammable material, sterile Products, or controlled Products;
• Laboratory apparatus or instruments that have been used or are without the original packaging, labeling, and manuals;
• Refrigerated Products, temperature-controlled Products, live specimens, or other perishables;
• Products which are not inventoried by VWR (“non-stocked Products”) and are not able to be returned to the manufacturer;
• Products purchased on a special-order basis (including non-standard furniture Products);
• Products not purchased by Customer from VWR;
• Products with an expired shelf life or an expiration date too short for resale;
• Discontinued Products; and
• Custom Products.
• Unauthorized returns and returned Products that are not in conformance with this Section and/or VWR’s quality standards will be disposed at Customer’s expense. Customer will be invoiced for the cost for such disposal and Customer shall remain responsible for payment for the invoiced amount of the unauthorized returned Products.

Facts About California Proposition 65

Boreal Science is committed to your safety and compliance with California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. As of August 30, 2018 the reporting requirements of this act, more commonly known as Proposition 65 changed. These changes require retailers who do business in the State of California to provide more robust and detailed labeling on items containing certain chemicals known to the State of California to be hazardous. In response, we have added new labels to many of our product packages and catalog descriptions. You may now see these labels on some products and packaging, even if you do not reside in the state of California. The safety and contents of our products have not changed. Our products continue to meet the highest safety standards for your classroom.
