Ray Box
Ray box
Product Details
This Ray Box is a simple, safe, and sturdy source of projected light for many classic optics experiments. Best of all, you don't need a completely dark room to conduct optic experiments due to its high-intensity light!
- Bright enough to use in ambient light
- Produces one, three, or five parallel rays
- May be powered with the included adaptor, or by an external laboratory source
Built in solid aluminum extrusion casing, it is supplied with a multi slit that produces either a single wide beam, or choice of one, three, or five pencil-thin rays. It produces parallel rays across a plane horizontal surface, and the rays are intense enough to be traced in natural light. It is supplied with a power adapter with all international safety certifications, which can be plugged into the mains source 100 to 240 V 50/60 Hz, or an external power supply may be used in the lab. It comes with a fixed lens, a slit with multiple sides, and an adaptor.
Caution: This ray box uses a halogen bulb so it can be operated in a lab or classroom without turning out the lights. The Halogen bulb is very bright to achieve this purpose. Halogen bulbs do get hot if left on for extended periods of time. The generally accepted rule for use a ray box like this is for 10 minutes at a time to prevent them from getting hot.
